proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in every
place, transforming the city for Christ.
Mission
To model and spark a passionate relationship
with Jesus Christ.
To be a body bound to the mind and will of
Jesus Christ, exercising the power of God's
Word and prayer in every place.
We're dedicated to radical prayer.... that
means we believe it is foundational and
revolutionary. We pray believing for miracles!
And we go as He leads, accompanying Him
to see what He has planned for our day.
Our purpose is to help transform Austin so
that God's Kingdom is established in the city. Operating outside the walls, we go to the
highways and byways where we see the
harvest is white and ready.
Our fellowship is inter-denominational and
seeks unity and collaboration among all
Christian believers. We believe that it is
in the coming together of the whole body
that we can truly demonstrate God's love.
We desire to be an answer to Jesus'
John 17 prayer.

To Begin With…
There was never any plan or desire to start
a ministry. Drawn to the Church under the
Bridge ministry, an outreach to the homeless
in Austin, Barbara was challenged by a
street friend to start a discipling class. Other volunteers joined the weekly gathering and
then took the opportunity to lead Sunday’s
service once a month Luke 4:18 was born
to meet this need. We served 60 meals that
first day. The gathering grew to 400 plus.
We come alongside Mission Possible
and Austin churches every Sunday to provide
prayer, teaching and counseling. It’s a joy to
see lives changed…transformed by the love
of the Lord.
Now there’s The Lighthouse in Hudson Bend.
No question that we moved into more enemy
territory when we leased an old saloon to use
as an outreach center. Once the stronghold
of violence and drugs, it now hosts prayer
meetings, Bible classes, youth concerts and
AA meetings. An Austin church used The Lighthouse as a base for entry-level mission
training for their youth!
Neighbors have been touched with Blessfests
and free Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts
and gifts, provided by local churches. It’s
also the home of Healthy’s, a Kingdom minded
business which helps support this ministry.
Luke 4:18 breaks bread at The Lighthouse
